Class Schedule

The Life Support Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) offers courses for physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners and other eligible providers. See below for a listing of our available courses, or view our events calendar.

BLS Online & Voice Assisted Manikin skills

HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s BLS blended learning delivery method. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course online in a self-directed manner, followed by skills completion on a Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM).

Online Modules will be made available as soon as a Life Support administrator is able to complete the request. Requests are typically handled Monday-Friday 0730-1530. 

DH employees/Geisel students are required to register with thier DH email.

If you are completing the skills session on the VAM no certificate is needed and no appointment is needed.  

VAM Locations:

Lebanon: Level 2 past 2M, available 24/7 no appt needed.

Manchester: The VAM is located in the basement next to the administration offices. When coming off the elevator, take a left and proceed through the double doors. Take a right in the hallway and the VAM is located in the first room on the right. If the door is locked, the code is 123456. The VAM is available Monday through Saturday 8am-5pm. No appt is necessary.

Nashua:  We recently re-established badge access to the copy room (#0085) across from Administration on the lower level were our Voice-assisted Manikin (VAM) is available for the hands on portion of BLS training. The VAM is available Monday thru Friday from 7am-8pm and Saturday & Sunday from 8am- 4pm. No appointment is necessary.

BLS Online & Instructor led Skills Assessment-Lebanon

DH employees MUST use thier DH email address when registering. 

You will receive an email from RQI to access the modules once Life Support has assigned the modules to you.  

You will need to bring your certificate of completion with you to class.  Attendance is not permitted without your certificate.

 

 

 

BLS online & Instructor led Skills Assessment-Nashua

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Heartcode Blended Learning

The HeartCode ACLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s ACLS Course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. 

HeartCode ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. 

Once students complete the online self-directed course, they must complete a 4 hour hands on skills practicum in the simulation lab. Online course are required to be completed prior to and students will not be granted admission if course is not complete.

 Please confirm the date and time of the class with your Department Manager and your immediate supervisor to avoid scheduling conflicts. 

Online Modules will be made available as soon as a Life Support administrator is able to complete the request. Requests are typically handled Monday-Friday 0730-1530. 

DH employees, Geisel Students & Travelers must register with thier DH email address.

*Please note, attending an ACLS class does not also certify staff in BLS. Please refer to Policy 9905 for clarification. *Student manuals may be loaned out from the Matthew Fuller Library on the fifth floor of the main campus.

DH Hands Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and AED Training

This course is for non-clinical staff.  The learner will receive a certificate of completion that is active for 1 year.

DH employees are required to register using thier DH email.

Moderate Sedation Program - Sedationist (D-H Staff Only)

The Moderate Sedation program is for clinicians, providers and nurses, who are directly involved in procedures requiring moderate sedation. Training to be credentialed in moderate sedation is role specific.

This program is for sedationists, meaning the person providing moderate sedation for the procedure, and is only available for Dartmouth-Hitchcock employees.

Modules are assigned in Halogen, Mon - Fri 8-3:30.

Required Pre-requisites

  • Current ACLS or PALS certification

Required training includes the following steps:
• Register for this course - This will sign you up for the hands-on simulation and the online modules.
• Receive an email confirmation for the hands-on simulation training 
• Once your ACLS/PALS certification is verified, the modules will be manually assigned to you in Halogen 
• Receive a second confirmation email, from Halogen, when they are available for you to access
• Complete the modules in their entirety
• Successfully pass the final exam
• Be present for the entire hands-on simulation training


There is no registration fee for this course.

 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Heartcode Blended Learning
